I take perfect purses and wreck them to perfection. I dig and travel to find the best vintage purses. This includes anything from leather quality, random countries where they were made to the silk interior. Even the very sturdy latches, buttons and zippers that keep them closed. It has to be a specific aesthetic for me to consider purchasing it. You really do have to dig to find vintage items worth saving. They basically have to be in a time capsule and untouched. Antique stores are a good place to look. Thrift stores in the middle of nowhere Montana or right under your nose in your grandmother's basement. The next step is creating a story. Finding the bag's personality. Match it to a fictional character. I also like to search for images that are interesting. Not always a recognizable one. I cut the images and shapes into stencils and then I begin the spray painting process. Color is very important. It's pretty impressive to take a piece of the past and completely alter it into something cutting edge today.
