Plants get all the credit. In fact, I say plants get almost all the credit for all the goodness in the whole world. Basically, plants make me uncontainably happy. I get weak in the knees when I see them cracking sidewalks, and sprouting in chimneys. Our buildings collect dirt, and it grows. Trees break down our abandoned structures. All because they are constantly adapting, they simply respond. They even eat flies, yes eat them. But, they are also elegant, even covered in spines or smelling of rotting meat. Where leaf meets stem, or sprout emerges from the ground there is a perfect curve. And it happens everywhere.
If I could live in a jungle I would, I want my wallpaper to grow. I have my solarium, and I have my studio. I need jewelry because jewelry is how I think. I need to wrap metal around people, because I love the interaction. And the challenge of the material, to make something as hard and cold as metal capture the soft curve and organic feel of a vine. So this is the basic problem, making something wearable and durable, but capture the smallest bit of amazement in each piece.
